STAFF:

Tammy Bartz: Band Administrator
Tammy has been the Band Administrator since 2002. She was born in England, and moved to Canada in 1957. She is a member of Squiala First Nations and has nine children, 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Tammy has followed many career paths; she has a Degree in Adult Education and has been a teacher, a life skills instructor, and an addictions counselor. She is grateful that she spent a lot of time with Theresa and learned to make cedar baskets, knit Cowichan sweaters, salish weaving and beading. Tammy currently resides on Squiala reserve.

Alvin Jimmie: Maintenance
Alvin has been our Maintenance man for the past 3 years. He is a member and resides on Squiala Reserve. He has been married to Yvette for 20 years and has 4 children and 3 grandchildren.

MELANI EDGAR – SUB EDUCATION COORDINATOR
Melani was born in Vancouver and spent most of her school years in Chilliwack. A graduate of Sardis Secondary, she went on to study Biology and Psychology at the University of Victoria where she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in 2004. Melani currently works for the Chilliwack School District as a Teacher Assistant and has been with Squiala since 2006 organizing the tutoring and homework sessions. She is taking over for Stacey as Education Coordinator for this year while Stacey takes some time off. Melani looks forward to the challenging task of filling Stacey’s shoes and advocating for the youth of Squiala in our schools.
